The US Treasury designated five people and ten companies on 4 November over fraudulent ship registries that flagged Iranian shadow-fleet tankers, Guyana's flag among them. Guyana's register admits only wholly Guyanese or CARICOM-owned vessels, and MARAD publishes no list to check against.

ueno bank's own investor releases carried a Fitch Core Capital of 10.3 per cent on 19 October 2026 and a total regulatory capital of 13.8 per cent on 29 October, for overlapping periods. Fitch moved the outlook to negative on 16 October. The central bank dissolved the bank on 2 November.

Paraguay’s President Signed the Law to Pay ueno Bank’s Depositors Faster on Wednesday. On Thursday the Chamber Impeached Him 78-0.

Santiago Peña promulgated Ley 7745 on 4 November 2026, letting the Fondo de Garantía de Depósitos advance up to 40 minimum wages to ueno bank's depositors. The Cámara de Diputados impeached him 78-0 the next day. The full guarantee of 75 minimum wages still runs to its 17 November deadline.

Guyana Reserves 40 Services for Guyanese Firms. The Words Small and Women-Owned Appear Nowhere in the Act.

Michael Munroe, Director of Guyana's Local Content Secretariat, told a suppliers' forum in Georgetown on 4 November that the Secretariat intends to ask the oil companies what work might be set aside for small and women-owned businesses. The Act reserves 40 services and names neither.

ITC and Afreximbank Projected US$2.1 Billion of Africa-Caribbean Trade by 2030. Last Week They Made It US$1.65 Billion.

The International Trade Centre and Afreximbank launched a report in Antigua on 3 November 2026 cutting their projection for Africa-Caribbean trade by a fifth against the figure their own heads published sixteen months earlier. Interregional trade stands at US$729 million.

Guyana's register of awarded tenders prices 410 contracts in US dollars, worth US$1.96 billion. On 71 contract references the state awarded lots in both currencies on the same day, paying one supplier in US dollars and another in Guyana dollars.

Guyana Awarded G$3.6 Billion for Beacons and a Vessel Traffic Service on the Demerara. A Spreadsheet Row Is the Only Place It Was Announced.

Guyana awarded G$3,615,354,000 on 24 September 2026 for beacons, a vessel traffic service and port security systems on the Demerara Main Ships Channel. It is the seventh largest Guyana-dollar award on the register and the largest outside the health ministry's drug buying. No announcement followed.

The column headed No. of Tenders/Proposals does not count the bids for the contract beside it on two-thirds of the register's 12,316 rows. One bridge advertisement put 634 on all 31 of its awards. Where the figure can only mean one contract, the median is six and 187 drew a single bid.

The Banco Central del Paraguay dissolved ueno bank on 2 November after its solvency ratio fell below half the required minimum. Deposits are guaranteed to 75 times the monthly minimum wage, about US$38,600. Above that, the state pension fund is paid first.
