Uruguay Has Signed 500 Megawatts of Data Centres. Its Whole Grid Peaked at 2,507 Last Year.
President Yamandu Orsi signed a US$5.7 billion data centre and solar complex with Spain's Solaria on 16 October 2026, which the Presidency calls the largest investment in the country's history. Solaria has held 22.7 megawatts in Uruguay for two years without adding one.
