Cancún Will Waive a Hotel Remodelling Fee Worth About 90 Pesos a Square Metre. Doing the Work Without a Licence Costs at Least 65 Per Cent More.
Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announced Renueva Cancún at the Cancún Travel Mart on 22 October 2026, under which hotels may be exempted from remodelling licence fees. The municipal tax law sets that fee at 0.77 UMA a square metre in the tourist zone, about 90.33 pesos.
