Help Us Tell the Stories That Matter

Every day across Guyana and the Caribbean, remarkable things happen. A small business opens its doors. A farmer tries something new. A student achieves something extraordinary. A community group changes lives quietly, without fanfare.

Most of these stories never make the news. Not because they don't matter. Because nobody tells them.

La Caribeña News is building a network of contributors: aspiring journalists, business enthusiasts, community advocates, students, retirees, and everyday citizens who want to spotlight the people, businesses, and organisations making a positive impact across the region.

You don't need a journalism degree. You don't need newsroom experience. You don't even need to know how to write a news article. If you can identify a great story, we can help bring it to life.

Why Contribute?

Your submission could become a professionally produced story published on La Caribeña News, reaching readers across the Caribbean and beyond. Published work builds credibility, strengthens university applications and job searches, and opens doors to networks you might not otherwise access: business leaders, educators, community organisations, and changemakers doing real work.

Beyond the personal benefit, there's something simpler at stake. The stories you help uncover can inspire investment, partnerships, and community pride. Positive things are happening. They deserve to be seen.

What We're Looking For

Business and entrepreneurship: New ventures, expansions, award recognition, export achievements, manufacturing wins.

Community development: Charity projects, volunteer initiatives, environmental programmes, neighbourhood improvement efforts.

Education: Student achievements, teacher recognition, school projects, skills development.

Agriculture: Farming innovation, agribusiness success stories, food security initiatives.

Innovation and technology: Startups, inventors, local solutions to local challenges.

Local heroes: Community leaders, young achievers, women in leadership, individuals making a genuine difference.

How It Works

Step 1: Spot a story. Identify a business, person, event, achievement, or initiative worth sharing.

Step 2: Submit what you know. Send us names, contact information, dates, locations, photos, videos, documents, notes, or voice recordings. Bullet points are fine. Rough notes are fine. We're looking for information, not polished prose.

Step 3: Editorial review. Our newsroom evaluates every submission for relevance, accuracy, public interest, and editorial suitability. Not every submission will be published.

Step 4: We do the work. Our editorial team may rewrite, edit, reorganise, fact-check, expand, shorten, retitle, or add context to meet our standards. We reserve full editorial discretion.

Step 5: Credit. When your submission results in a published story, you may receive contributor recognition or a byline at the editorial team's discretion.
